You may have heard that drinking hot water helps you lose weight. When it comes to weight loss, hot water is said to help break down adipose tissue / fat in the body. It’s best to drink it first thing in the morning, especially with lemon.
It’s also good for breaking down phlegm if you’re suffering from a cough or cold
The heat can help relieve the sensation of abdominal cramping for those with PMS.
Lastly, consuming hot water helps flush out toxins more effectively than cold or room temperature water, making it great for detoxing.
I drink hot water because it’s an easy way to stay hydrated. Our bodies are made up of 70 percent water and hydration is essential towards keeping the organs functioning, the skin supple (which, in turn, aids in hair growth), the digestive system healthy, and so much more. I don’t care for cold water in the least. Hot just seems to go down better.
I was first introduced to the idea during beauty school. A classmate who had been struggling with periodic acne began consuming hot water on a regular basis on the advice of someone else. I saw her skin transform to clear and radiant before my eyes! When I eventually started to do the same, people started to point out that my skin had a glow to it. My skin was smoother overall and my vision was noticeably sharper.
I encourage you to switch out your usual beverage for at least a couple glasses of hot water a day, and see if you also notice an improvement.
