Even oily/blemished skin needs moisture to keep it balanced. This mattifying moisture gel actively controls shine and helps combat blemishes as you add moisture where it’s needed.

The Results: When this product just came out (several to 10 years ago), I purchased it in hopes that it would tone down my super-oily T-zone. It helped a little, but not much. It was also too light to wear as a staple moisturizer and even the sales rep advised I wear it on top of my daily moisturizer.
I love The Body Shop’s Tea Tree Oil Toner and Tea Tree Oil Make-Up Removal Sheets so I didn’t mind continuing the use of the mattifying moisture gel as it was part of the same line and it didn’t break me out. Clearasil had translucent oil absorbing/mattifying powder back then, but it would leave a bluish-white tinge on my dark skin. When I discovered mineral make-up roughly 5 years ago, I fell in love with it. It wouldn’t break me out, I could control the amount of coverage, and it was very easy to create my perfect shade.
One day, I decided to use the tea tree oil mattifying moisture gel as a primer for my loose mineral foundation. The foundation went from being slightly chalky to silky smooth and left my skin looking slightly dewy and airbrushed. I came to find that the tea tree oily mattifying moisture gel works amazing as a make-up primer! I’ve been using it on and off ever since. MAC’s Fix+ also gives me the same effect. I would recommend The Beauty Shop’s Tea Tree Oil Mattifying Moisture Gel *try saying that 3 times fast* as a super light moisturizer (even to those with sensitive skin) and – moreso – as a make-up primer.
